It has settled down now that the foal show is over and we are ready for winter.
Horses are covered and hay is stored in the shed.
Tina has been sold to a wonderful home not far from us and they are looking forward
to their foal in December. The owner's daughter is willing to help me this coming
season with starting/training the youngsters and handling the foals. It is going
to be good to have a helper around!
Mac and Rose
have been having some ground work training and now are mouthed, been lunged and
long-reined. So they are learning some valuable training.
Thanks to the owners of the foals for their references and support! We really
appreciate it and look forward to hearing news about them.
Hope everyone stays warm this winter!

We are now proud owners of a stunning pinto warmblood x stationbred colt named
PS Bernie Mac. Mac was bred by Pintosa stud
who kindly let us buy this boy to be a future sire at our stud.
Fame scanned in foal! She is in foal
to a lovely pinto buckskin stallion named Tiger and due mid February 2010.
Both Heidi and Tina
scanned in foal to Cremello American Saddlebred "Denmarks
Platinum Playboy" so two gauranteed palomino foals next season.
That ends our season with five mares in foal to four different stallions. It
is certainly a season to look forward to!
12 March 2010
Fame is now at Taihape to hopefully
get in foal to a lovely buckskin pinto pony stallion. She was collected today
from Rebecca who did a fantastic job of getting her going under saddle! Thanks
Rebecca!
Tara is now sold and will be going
to her new home after the May foal show.
Both Cleo and Tara are now branded, so that is all the foals done for this season.
Fingers crossed we do not need to call the vet out again until next season.
We will soon start training the weanlings to float. That is the last stage of
their basic training. Ace and Tara will also get the inhand training in preparation
for the foal show.
That is all the news for this month. The weather is changing and hope everyone
is prepared for the coming winter.
14 February 2010
The news page has not been updated in some time so thought I better give a
run down of the last several months!
We have mares confirmed in foal due this coming season:
Cita our beautiful buckskin
mare is in foal to Destiny's
Pancho Villa who is a stunning black pinto colt that we sold to the
South Island.
Nakita our lovely
smokey black clyde cross is in foal to our beautiful black boy Sunday's
Destiny. That again will be an interesting result as it could come out any
colour since both sire and dam carry the chestnut gene and Nakita carries the
dilute gene.
Both Cody and Ace
born this season have been sold. They are going to wonderful homes! We are taking
Ace to the May foal show before he goes to his new home and it looks like Cleo
will be the other one to go as well.
Our wonderful farrier Naki came the other day from Taupo to trim the horses.
He did all four foals so they now have had their first hoof trim. Naki is fantastic
to come all this way to help us make sure our horses get the proper hoof care!
Thanks Naki!
We have a new broodmare added to our family and that is Beauty.
She is a lovely 7yo black TB mare that will be a future broodmare for Destiny.
I think that is all the news to date but will add more if there is any. Hope
everyone had a great season!
